Semai BAKTI

Semai BAKTI Programme is a strategic programme to aid the development of a caring and concerned society towards the handicapped. Its aim is to enable the disabled to be independent and be integrated into the community. The programme was the brainchild of Allahyarhamah Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood and in 2004 covering Pusat Dalam Komuniti  (PDK) throughout FELDA schemes with the involvement of Gabungan Wawasan Generasi FELDA (GWGF), Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, FELDA and other government agencies.

In February 2008, Semai Bakti has been expanded to include other PDKs throughout the nation with the cooperation of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.

A Step to University

A Step to University or Selangkah ke Universiti is a joint effort between BAKTI, the Higher Education Ministry, and 14 institutions of Higher Learning. This programme will see at least 3000 Form Four Students from 94 constituencies all around the country spend a day at a public university near them. They will be exposed and initiated to the university culture and experience how it feels to further their studies in a university. Participants are bright students who do not have any family member who had studied in institutions of higher learning. They are chosen from 100 schools throughout the country. The objective of this programme is to give students a clearer picture of their goals and help identify their field of interest upon completing their secondary education.
